Not Me Monday Say Yes to the Dress Version

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

I do not watch the TLC show Say Yes to the Dress. I do not  watch it a lot. I do not check the Cable On Demand if I  miss a new episode. Well, Laura never watches with me and she has never dressed up her little sister. She has definitely not alsodressed up her little buzz-cut hairdoo brother (sorry, no photos of that).

Fortunately Megan is a willful participant:

Here Laura is layering two dresses onto Megan, who is standing on a stepstool. Laura has also added a decorative sash, and is arranging the dress to allow for the proper flow of the skirts.

I would never allow my girls to participate in such a vain activity, nope, not me.

Not Me Monday: Giving the Dog Water

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

I still have plenty of moments in our files of pictures to share for Not Me Monday! It is a fun time to show what I would never, ever do (or let me kids do) being the stellar super mom that I am.

One of our favorite things in our Georgia house was the water dispenser on the fridge. It was nice that the kiddos could get a fresh glass of filtered water whenever they needed it.
Even James at the age of 2 could easily reach the dispenser

And if he wasn't particularly thirsty, he could usually find someone who was. Lucky dog.

Not Me Monday

It's another Monday, and another opportunity for not me Monday . . . the fun activity over at what is now www.MckMama.com. Jennifer has had a few changes in her life, and a new web address is one of them.

Let me think . . .

That certainly was NOT me that you heard reply "wonderful" in a cheerful rather than sarcastic tone on Friday night. I was talking with work, how could I sound so cheery. I certainly was not looking forward to a kid free drive to work a four hour shift. Nope, not me, I would never view four hours of work with such happy thoughts.

This morning I was NOT in a scurry to change the babies out of their clothes from yesterday. No matter how late I come home from Sunday night church, I ALWAYS have time to get the children properly prepared for night time slumber. Even if my husband is out of town.

I certainly did NOT forget to serve the children any sort of snack or dinner before the One Month to Live Bible Study and AWANA activities last night at church. And I did NOT offer them microwaved popcorn at 8:15 pm to compensate and fill their empty tummys. (No babies were fed popcorn, just in case you were wondering how NOT ME of a Monday this actually is)

But we have another week, with what I am sure will be filled with imperfect parenting moments.

Okay, so I am a day late . . .but I had to share in the NOT ME MONDAYNESS going on over at Jennifer McKinney's blog (Stellan's mom)

There are probably a lot but I'll only discuss last night!

When faced with a soccer practice that was to start in 90 minutes and a son that had too-small soccer cleats . . . I most certainly did not contemplate (and just about attempt) to color the pink stripes on my daughter's old soccer cleats black so that my son could use them (instead made a run to the sports store on the way to practice . . .) I would never think of doing such a thing to my son! (fear not, he is now the proud owner of some black and red nike soccer cleats)

And of course, I DID NOT forget to pack that son's soccer ball and water bottle. Nope, I ALWAYS pack up all that is needed for my children's activities the night before so that we are never unprepared. No one would ever make their son practice in 90 some degree heat in GA without a water bottle (situation mended by trip to Sonic after practice for a round of rootbeer floats)

and I didn't let my daughter sit at a picnic table during my son's practice and allow her to talk the ear off of a nice gentleman (who was the dad of one of her Kindergarten classmates) for the entire 45 minute soccer practice. I would never want to miss all that talking!

Not Me Monday

Once again, it is Monday. Boy the week went fast. I had to think a little this week about what I did, since it seems like yesterday I was typing about Not Me Monday. If you are yet unfamilliar with Not Me Monday, it was started over at www.mycharmingkids.net, and it is a lot of fun!

First and foremost I did not totally forget where my husband was going to on his business trip today. I certainly know where my husband goes when he leaves the house for 4 days. No one, especially me, would tell his parents that he is in New Jersey when in fact he is in Washington, D.C.!

I certainly would not finally be fed up with my older baby's hair and chop it all off while he was eating his dinner in the high chair. High chairs are not for haircuts, they are for nutritious meals (just like the pepperoni Pappa John's pizza that he was eating during the haircut)No, that was definitely not me that you saw with the scissors.

My examples are few this week, but next week I shall be back to my full assignment of children, and will no doubt have plenty of stories that are not about me!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

We definitely did not attend two birthday parties this weekend even though our oldest two children are out of town visiting the grandparents. We did it because our 14 month old and 3 month old would have been heartbroken if we didn't go. And the children who were turning two years old would have been so sad if Mr John and Mrs. Kristina hadn't shown up. We didn't enjoy that big Dora cake and ice cream, the pizza, the hot dogs, or the Thomas the Train cupcakes one bit . . . no, not us.

I certainly did not hose down my one year old's carseat in the driveway after he got sick on the way home from the above mentioned parties. And I would never remove all his clothes before entering our house. I am a mother who would endure all, including giving my poor sick boy a big comforting hug when his tummy was upset. . . not stripping him down to his diaper in the driveway, nope, that wasn't me.
